Miss Chris:
Miss Chris has a Bachelor's in Psychology from St. Bonaventure University as well as A Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Buffalo. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. For her Master's Thesis she created a Dance Therapy Program for children recovering from the loss of a parent. She has taken class at U.B. and has participated in dance shows sponsored by both U.B. and Buff State. She has attended many teacher trainings including one of the last trainings from the late, great, Al Gilbert. She has taught for area studios including; Shery Martin's & Circle of Dance. She was a member of Unique Dance Co. for 5 years, and has performed in and around Buffalo, including the miss Western New York Pageant. She's been dancing since the age of 4. Since that time, she has always dreamed of dancing her life away in her own studio. It is a dream come true that METTS Dance is now a reality. It would not be without the help of her husband who made a wedding night vow to make this dream come true. She hopes that the one thing her students learn from METTS is self efficacy (belief in your ability to do). "Dreams do come true, they can happen to you if you are young at heart". Mrs. Shannon L. Hall:
Miss Shannon comes to us from Rochester, NY. Shannon is a native of Penfield, a suburb of Rochester. Miss Shannon grew up dancing at Fitzsimmons Dance Factory, a large, competitive, multi-disciplined dance studio in Fairport, NY, where she danced for the past twenty years. Miss Shannon has also been a dance teacher at Fitzsimmons for the past ten years. While dancing at Fitzsimmons, Shannon studied jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, character and African. Miss Shannon continued her dance education at Merychurst College, Erie PA, where she danced with the dance department for four years, taking classes in jazz, tap, ballet and pointe. While dancing at Mercyhurst College, Miss Shannon was sought out by the Lake Erie Ballet, a professional childrens ballet company, where she taught ballet for three years. Miss Shannon also served as the Director of Education for the Lake Erie Ballet for two years. After graduating from Mercyhurst College with a degree in Biology and a concentration in Pre-Medicine, Shannon continued to teach for Fitzsimmons Dance Factory while attending Roswell Park Cancer Institute and earning her Masters degree in Immunology in May 2007. She is very much looking forward to teaching for us this year. Miss Shannon joins our staff as a ballet and lyrical teacher and hopes to instill a love and a passion for dance and movement into our dancers as well as further educate and motivate our students to incorporate the art of dance into their daily lives.
